A quarantine fish tank is a separate fish tank from the main aquarium which is meant to identify and prevent any fish sickness from spreading in the main fish aquarium tank.

Use a quarantine/spare fish tank before releasing any newly acquired fishes/animals in the main aquarium tank.
Quarantine tank should be used to to treat sick/diseased fish, for example in case of Marine Velvet Disease in Aquarium Fishes.
